    I have had a hybrid car for a few years, but have not thought of some of the tips that you have mentioned in this article.  Although we do watch the battery health through the dash readouts, we have not thought to have a service check on the batteries other than sometimes when the oil is changed.  We did not realize that extreme temperatures and aggressive driving can be hard on the system.  We live in extremely hot summers.  It makes sense, now that i think about it, to keep the car in the garage.  We don’t drive aggressively, but two with our hybrid.  it might be better to tow with our non-hybrid car even though it is not as comfortable.  We do maintain the breaks and hope that the service people check the system you have written about.  This is a very practical article that will serve as a checklist for us in the future.

The battery lifespan as I highlighted, has an average of 8 years depending on brand and usage, but advancements in technology and research are expected to result in longer lifespans and lower costs as more cost effective methods of production will be implemented. Also, since the demand for hybrid cars is steadily increasing mostly due to government regulations world over, more production volumes of the batteries (and other hybrid specific parts) are expected and as a result, manufacturers will achieve better economies of scale resulting lower unit costs.
